It's Giveaway Day on Sew, Mama, Sew! A week long giveaway day to meet new blogs and get a chance to win something fun!

I will randomly choose a Saturday and contact you for an address. I will ship internationally to include everyone, and will send the basket off on Monday.

My first quilt is on my daughter's bed...when she doesn't kick it to the floor!
i gave my first quilt away and haven't seen it since... that's probably a good thing!
well my first mini was done for a swap - and the first big quilt was a present - I don't know about the mini quilt but the big one is still in use and loved.
What a great bag! I think my first quilt is still at my parents house. I made a little lap quilt for a 4-H quilting project. It doesn't get much use, but it could still be used if someone wanted to!
My first quilts where for my brothers who had babies just a few months apart...don't think I've finished one since then, but I like to sew clothes and toys for my kiddos.
The first quilt I made was a gift. It is still in use, and is actually at my house as the owner is hoping I will make it bigger. It was her baby blanket and she has outgrown it, but still loves it.
My first quilt was for my son many years ago. It is now stored in a safe place polyester back and all :)
I gave away my first quilt. It was a high school graduation gift for my sister. I still love it and so does she.
I gave a way my first quilt, so I haven't seen it since. I'm sure it has a ton of mistakes but I know it got used a lot. (Or at least my friend said it did!) It's probably a good thing I didn't keep it... Thank you for the giveaway!
I think I gave away my first sewing project- some poorly hand sewn coasters.
My first quilt went to my mom. she still has it and it is in her closet somewhere. I made it when I was in high school.
Love the basket, I could really use one for when I travel with my sewing things! I make Waldorf dolls, my first is on a shelf, but when I see her, I kind of laugh because of how poorly she was made compared to how I am now.
I made a quilt when I was in 8th grade, it has the absolute worst fabric and ugly as sin. However, it is my husbands favorite quilt because it reaches his toes and is soft since it was hand tied.
My first quilt is currently in a closet, but we still use it from time to time!
One of my first quilts was for my grandparents and I gave it to them. I made blocks with all 6 of their kids handprints, as well as 6 grandkids, and sewed it all up. They have both since passed away so we buried Nana with the quilt so all of her family could be there to comfort her.
Great basket! My first quilt project was a quilt for my bed. It is really light weight and doesn't really fit the bed we use now but once in awhile we do use it in the summer.
I tend to give most everything away. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. Thanks for a chance to win.
My first quilt was made for a friend's baby, and yesterday on facebook, I saw a pick of them at the park with him still using it! So sweet!
I still have my first quilt, I had given it to my mom, but have it back since she passed away.
The first quilt I made was doll quilt that I did for my daughter when she was little. I used reproduction feedsack fabrics and made a simple 4x5 square design, with prairie point edging. She still has it even though she's all grown up now. :)
My first quilt is the one I am working on, trying different quiltblocks and techniques. My youngest son already claimed it :)
My first quilt has polyester batting and was tied.. it's still used but i'm not crazy about it...
I've actually never made a quilt. Right now I'm just making clothing for my girls. I'd love to learn to quilt though!
Wow, this is beautiful! The first thing I made was a dish towel. I gave it to my mum for mother's day. Bless her, she still has it:)

My first project was a shirt that is long in the garbage. :) I'm hoping to tackle my first quilt this summer!

Cute basket! My first quilt is on the bed in the guest bedroom.
Still sort of using my first quilt that i ade for my daughter in 1998, it was in the wash just last week and still looks not too bad!
My first quilt was a log cabin and I still use it and I´m very proud of it!!

My first quilt is folded and saved in a drawer. I'm afraid to use it and mess it up. :)
My first project was a quilt, and it was, a FIASCO, but it was a Christmas gift and I was in college, and I gave it to my friend anyways. There was a lot of fabric glue used on the corners... don't ask. To my horror, when I went to visit (it's been almost 15 years) her last year, she still had it AND she had it draped to display over her reading chair. I still need to replace it, but she said she'd never get rid of it. I have definitely come a long way since then!
I'm currently working on making my first quilt. It is going to take forever since it is a cal king cathedral quilt! I think I'm crazy!
I haven't made my first actual quilt yet. Making smaller quilted projects and I love them. Thanks!
I love my first quilt! I feel so proud when I see it, it's the first thing I ever sewed!
I gave my first quilt to my mum - when she died it came back to live with me!
I'm a new follower!
I actually like my first quilt project. It's a throw sized basket quit that I hand quilted. It lives in our family room and gets used often. I love your divided basket! Thanks for the giveaway.
I am a new follower.
I am still working on my first quilt! I hope that I like it enough to use it and not hide it away :)
I'm a new follower :)
That would be a lovely addition to my sewing table! Lord knows I need some organizing. I made a few baby gifts, that I'm sure only a baby would really love...striving to improve daily!
I don't remember my first quilt, but one of my earliest ones is still in the cupboard - I made it for our youngest son about 15 years ago and didn't put batting in it. I have no idea why! It was made with squares of broadcloth and each square was cut with scissors. He used it for a long time until he went into a bigger bed and it was too small, lol.
Sadly, i haven't even finished my first quilt. This reminds me i need to.
My first quilt was this tiny little thing, with four patch blocks alternating with solid coloured blocks. It was pretty much a disaster, but the second quilt was a lot better :)
My cats use my first quilt I ever made!
My very first quilt was a blanket for our dog... And he's still using it!
And I am a follower!
Not much of a quilter, but my first bag is up in the closet, sometimes it sees daylight, but not often!
My very first quilt is listed on my blog in the finishes section - I use it as a wall hanging. The quilting itself is questionable, but the piecing still makes me happy. It was my first quilt and my first paper piecing. I just dove right in.
I follow your blog, plus it's fun being in bees with you and seeing what else you're making.
I decided to start small (never quilted before) and I made a quilted cover for my sewing machine. I do use it, and it was a very easy tutorial so it came out pretty well. Thanks for a lovely first giveaway!

Just signed up to follow you by email. Thanks for a terrific giveaway - pretty and very useful!

My very first quilt project is lying on my bed, and I love it more every day. thanks for the chance!
My first quilt was a gift to my baby :) It makes me sooo hapy every time I use it for her
My first quilty like project was a cover for my machine, I like it and use it.
My first quilt was a gift for my husbands god child. The quilt is what got me to write a blog to document my projects. I love how the blogging community posts so many tutorials and free sharing of ideas.
My first quilt is on the bed in the guest room (otherwise known as Grandma's Room). I love your basket.
I am following you via email.
Love the divided basket! I need to start my first quilt - Ha! Thanks for the chance to win.
i haven't made a quilt, but i love my first sewing project and it still gets used all the time.
I gave away my first quilt to a friend who inspired me to sew.
Oh dear, I posted as unknown. My email is mnachlin at gmail.com
my first quilt was for my Mom and I am still as proud as I was that day LOL
Fabulous basket! (and I enjoyed visiting your Etsy shop) I still have part of my first quilt, my dogs enjoy sleeping on it when I'm in the sewing room.
Darling basket!! My first quilt was a doll quilt and my girls use it for their dolls. Thanks for the chance to win!,
So cute - thanks for the giveaway! As with many items I make, my first project was a gift so I haven't seen it. I must have liked it enough to give away (i.e.: if it turned out awful I wouldn't think it was good enough to give as a gift).
I'm following!
So sweet! My first quilt was a baby quilt for my daughter, that she now uses as a dolly quilt for her babies :) k_springthorpe (@) yahoo (dot) com
I made a wall-hanging of a simple block for a friend of mine. If it had it right now, it would be hiding in a closet... totally old-fashioned now!
I was ambitious about my first quilt it is 6 foot by 7 foot. It was for my husband who hated the size of throw blankets (he is a tall dude and they never cover him). I made this for him. It is FAR from perfect, but we still use it all the time. Thanks for the chance.
I still have my first quilt. It's hideous. But, I used 2 layers of poly batting, so it's the warmest quilt in the house and I can't get rid of it!
My first quilt was a from a sampler class. The colors are outdated but fairly neutral so it lives on our sofa.
My first project is hidden away in a closet. While I still like the pattern and the look, I no longer like the fabrics or the colors I chose.
My very first quilt (made just this last August) is used nightly by my toddler! I'm so proud of it. it's also the first project that I free motion quilted.
Great bag! I took a look at past posts and really like your creations. I'm following now.
My first quilt project is still in the unfinished pile - it's a handsewn scrappy crazy quilt & I pick it up on holidays or when I am sick. It has been on the 'go' for about 15yrs now!
Thanks for the chance to win something fab!
Hugs from Australia!
my first quilt was a baby quilt that i made for my friend. it wasn't a masterpiece or anything, but i was proud of it! i was in grad school and it was difficult for me to get through that quilt but i did. :-)
she recently sent me a photo of her 'baby' lying on that quilt - now he is almost TEN!
thanks for the chance to win. my girls and i could really use this - in the car, gathering things to go outside, etc. it'd make life easier!
just added you via google friend connect!
My first quilt that I ever made is still in use. I made it while I was pregnant for my baby. He's 8 years old now and still sleeps with that quilt nearby.
My first project ---long,long time ago. Barbie clothes were also done at that time - waiting on a third generation to play with those. My mom taught us all how to sew, darn, stitch.
Nowadays, I give most of my projects away as gifts. Nothing like a handmade gift.
Thanks for the giveaway!
what a lovely basket! Well I've been sewing since I was a little girl and I have no idea what became of my childhood projects! My first quilt is hanging in my hallway, it's not perfect but I still love it!
Cool basket! My first quilt was done with a "Teach Yourself To Quilt" Sampler how-to booklet. I did it all by hand except for sewing on the first side of the binding. That was at least 15 years ago and it is still being used!
The first quilt I made was a little green and pick floral baby sized quilt. I have since had 3 boys and so haven't been able to use it. :)
we still use the first quilt I made it was for our camper and I still enjoy it thanks for the chance to win
I follow
Love the basket! My first quilt was for my son. It was crib size, but he still has it on his queen-sized bed!
Following via GFC!
Thanks for the great giveaway!
I gave away my first quilt. I've given away many more quilts than I have kept for myself. I really like your basket. I just looked at a tutorial for a similar one a few days ago.
My first quilt is one that I spent two years making for my husband. I loved it when I finished it, and I'm still very fond of it, but more and more I see the mistakes I made in it, and all of the things I would do differently now!
My absolutely first project was probably never finished (I'm a big starter, and I keep coming across bits I started as a kid), but my first real quilt was given to my grandfather about three months before he passed away - my grandmother still has it, though.
I made a puff quilt when I was in high school and it still is used at my parents house, a little to warm for most nights though.
Love the basket.
My first quilt is in my closet.
Thanks for participating.
It's so cute!
I made a quilt for a good friend. It was hard to give up, but her little girl loves it which makes me happy.
The basket looks great! I love Laura Gunn's fabrics!
My first project... well, it's not finished yet! I finally finished piecing it last year (it's 10 years old! I've finished things in the meantime!), but now I need to quilt it. I actually like it a fair bit, but I'm always bad at the finish :D
(clumsy.chord(at)gmail.com)
my first quilt turned out VERY tiny LoL... my niece uses it for her "babies"
Following your blog
I've helped my grandma with so many quilts I can't remember what my first one was! We sure use our quilts to the bitter end, though. I still have a corduroy one that belonged to my dad when he was a boy and just finished repairing the patchwork... again!

That is adorable! My first quilt is an alphabet wall hanging that I did for my daughter's first birthday. Still hanging on her wall, three and a half years later. It was supposed to be my only quilt, I told myself I did NOT need another hobby. Ooops.
Lovely!
My first quilting project was a gift to a baby so I think she didn't mind at the time. The first big quilt I made for us, and we use it... even though it's a mad-mess in the center. :D
adriprints(at)yahoo(dot)com
My first quilt is hiding under the spare bed; its not bad as I went super simple, but its crib sized so too small to use :( maybe one day! How lucky are we that your swap partner got something else; this is a fantastic giveaway, thank you!
Love Cosmos! My first quilt was for my grandma and it was way too small!
My first quilt is still in use! I only started about 3 years ago but it has been used and washed loads. It's not the best but i love it none the less, it started off the new hobby and is a reminder of how far i've come!
I'm a follower as well!
Love this basket :-) I made a pillow cover which I am still using and still like!
I am a new follower.
my first quilt was a gift and, looking back, full of flaws! At the time I was very happy with it. Thanks for a great giveaway.
hi! am following on bloglovin'... um, my first quilt is still on my son's bed, but every time i see it i shudder at the binding... but, it still makes me super happy! (& him as well, i hope)... thanks for doing this! (bulwinkle44@hotmail.com)
you make me feel better... just made a huge quilt- was beautiful until i actually quilted it- arghhh! oh, well... live & learn... (still love the fabric & the design)... :)
My first project was a small drawstring bag... it's pretty rough looking, but I use it in my car for trash! It definitely works for that.
This is lovely,
My first quilt project was a reproduction civil war quilt (twin size) for my son who is a civil war re-enactor. This was 4 yrs ago and he still uses it at every re-enactment.
The first quilt I made is still being used by my son and the second by his brother :)
This tote is wonderful, thank you for the chance :)
My first quilting project was a doll quilt and my doll is using it :-) !
I had just pulled my 1st quilt out the other day! I had forgotten I used Bella solid on it, and I now use Kona. I was amazed at how soft and comfy it is! I'm keeping it for myself, it's not perfect but I love it!
I still have my first quilt- on oversized throw. It is perfect at night when my husband doesn't want any more layers and I do. Thanks for participating in the Giveaway Day.
I'm following.
Hmmm, you're asking me to think back a long way! I have no idea what my first quilted project was. But I do remember my first cross-stitch project, a simple old-fashioned gumball machine. Years later I realized you can easily see the hoop marks from my apparently grubby 10-year-old hands! I'm still proud of it though. :)
I'm still working on my first quilt but my first "real" knitting project is hilariously ugly hat that I think my grandma still keeps in her closet. She grabbed it when nobody else wanted it due to its extreme ugliness. Thanks for hosting!
Hello from Minnesota! Last year, my mom gave me a sewing machine she found on the curb and a one-day sewing lesson in which I pieced and quilted a nine-patch potholder out of floral scrap fabric. Now, it sits by my sewing machine which I use nearly every day but I would NEVER hold a pot with it; it's too precious!
My first quilt was loved to death many years ago.
Oh wow - this little bag is amazing! Perfect to lug around crochet projects to the parents-in-law for extended Sunday lunches :)
My first sewing project (as an adult) was hammocks for my pet rats. It's really just a closed pillowcase and although they looked horrible, the ratties were in heaven. They have survived multiple chewing attacks and watching them sleep in it all snuggled up makes me love my failed project more.
Thank you for a great giveaway and the chance to win.
My first quilt top is still sitting in a drawer waiting to be quilted :( sad, right? Oh well, one day...
My first quilt was a for my first born. It is hiding in a closet, waiting to go on with her as she goes through life (she's only 13, so it may be in there a while!)
I only recently finished my first quilt top for a table topper. I haven't finished it yet. I'm determined to do that this summer. Thanks for the chance.
Wonky as it is my first quilt still hangs in my bedroom.
My first project was a dress for my daughter. She grew out of it, and I gave it away. Probably, should have kept it for sentimental reasons. :)
My first quilt was made at age 16 for my then boyfriend - a king size bed quilt - it was a lot of work and I hope he still has it somewhere! :)
My first quilt was an I-Spy quilt for my son. I can see the errors I made, but like it overall. My son thought it was pretty cool.
I now follow your blog :)
I am a follower now as well, I am just starting to sew, so hopefully I will make a quilt sometime in the future. love the bag, and thanks for the chance to win it.
My first quilt project was to be a bed quilt for when my first son would go into his "big" bed, then it would be for my second son, then I gave up... In short: it never got finished! The first finished one was a wall hanging and it's still on the wall right where I can see it every day :-)
I've been following your blog for a while now! And congratulations on your first giveaway; I also am holding my first one, but you seem a bit better prepared with a hand made item!
my first projects were all made as gifts. At the time, I thought it was cheaper than buying a gift and we were quite poor back then. I think I did ok on them, the recipients seemed pleased. Now, you have to be someone special to get hand made items..the time involved is just too precious to give to someone who won't apprecialte them. my 2 cents.
The first quilt I finished was for my daughter and it is currently in her room
One of my first pieced quilts was for my sons crib. I really have no idea where it is now. Either gave it away? or it's stuffed in some far off shelf I haven't seen it for years?
My first project was a dress, that somehow didn't fit over my hips. I made it when I was fifteen and it made me very sad. (Because all teenagers going through puberty feel gorgeous before your dress tells you you have junk in the trunk!) So it got balled up. Some of my older projects, like bags, though, are still in use. I have only recently begun getting back into clothing sewing!
Though I will say I'm crazy-impressed with the bag you've created! I love the combo of patterns (Michael Miller does a fantastic job with coordinating prints, right?!) and I'm also very impressed with the divider. I *hate* sewing those into bags! Do you have any words of wisdom with regards to those??
Thanks for offering such a fantastic prize!
elizabeth.waligora
What a fantastic giveaway my dear! I am using my first quilt. The only usable thing that I've made and kept. It's a reminder of how much I've grown! I "should" make more for my own house. . sigh.
I still have my first quilt. I took a quilting class to learn the basics. The colors were peach, green and blue. Blue is my favorite color but should not have been a part of this rail fence pattern. Someone should have spoken up and said that blue does not go with this. To win this awesome basket would be so neat and so special. It just means so much when you win a homemade gift. It is almost time for picnics and this divided basket would be so well loved and needed.
Sandi Timmons
sandit1@sbcglobal.net
I've never quilted anything besides a potholder, and I do use it. Thanks for the chance!
This divided basket would come in handy now that it is time for picnics. This is so nice of you to give away. You made this and to me that means it is so special. I know you can always buy one but it takes a special quilter to take the time and effort to make this herself. Thank you for the chance to win. I like you on FB.

My first project...as an adult I guess it was a T-shirt pillow and I still have it, my kids use it now.
I was in junior high when I made my first sewing project... a top and skirt. Heaven only knows where it is now!
made my first quilt a couple months ago; my 12 yr daughter uses it on her bed
following your blog now
I follow your blog!
First quilt I made was actually just a cheater quilt, with yarn ties every few inches. Made it as a young teen, with my mother. I *LOVE* it, and I still have it out and use it for reading out in the yard! It's horribly 70s and garishly yellow and orange-y and I just love it to bits. I need to make a major repair but I still just love it!
My first quilt was made using 4 men's shirts and I tied it because I was afraid of quilting!! That was 2009 - I still LOVE quilting!
My first quilt is resting on my girls bed and she loves it!!!
My first quilt was a sampler and was made at night school. I still use it on our guest bed and still meet up regularly with the girls from night school 14 years later! Thank you for the chance to win this beautiful basket x
Hah! I'm making my first quilt right now! I'm making all different blocks - so far I've done a log cabin, nine patch, churn dash and pinwheels. I love it!
My first quilt resulted in a lot of lessons learned. The top is beautiful (although it's obvious I hadn't yet learned color theory), but I didn't match the backing fabric to the top.
I'm now following you by email!
First project was a small purse...super simple. I still have it in my craft room closet. It'll probably end up framed at some point just to show how far I have come :)
Follow with bloglovin!
The first thing I made was a purse probably 15 years ago and I think the strap eventually broke and have no idea where it is now!
My first sewing project was a skirt when I was 11. I thought I did a great job! I wore it all summer long!
I am following through email! Thank you!
I never quilted my very first project, but I love the subsequent ones!
I love my first quilt - we still use it on our bed. Thanks for the great giveaway!
My first completed quilt is a simple red white and blue striped quilt. My granddaughter uses it when she spends the night which is quite often.
My first quilt was a baby blanket. I didn't make it for anyone in particular but refuse to part with it. My daughter has had the chance to use it but it is really lacking so I just keep it put up. It is nice to see how far I have come as a quilter.
My first quilt was a wall hanging that I made over 25 years ago! I still have it although it does have a small hole from where it was nibbled by our pet hamster!
My first quilt was so-so. I gave it away. Thanks for the chance to win!

I've never made a quilt but I did make an apron for my mother last Christmas. Your basket is really cute.
mcclelland@sympatico.ca
It's still being used, but the quilt is getting a little thin from all the washing!
I made a hand embroidered portrait of a pony I had growning up.. I was about 12 years old! I still have it :) THank you!
I follow you in Feedly!
my first quilt was a mini, and I still have it displayed :)
My first quilt is something else. Not the prettiest fabric, or the straightest of lines. But it sits folded on a table in my sewing room to remind me how far I have come!
My first quilt is a total mess but it's still on the bed in my old room at my parent's house. Mom can't bear to hide it I guess!
Sad. I started a quilt for a dear friend who died before I could finish it. So I have not completed it. but it is where I see it and think of him.
I still love my first quilt because it is my first daughter's baby quilt. She is 3 now and still uses it some. It has many many mistakes but it is still special to her and me.
I am a new follower:) My first quilt I made from my mother's clothes and I used minky! Huge mistake. But I still treasure it and use it often:)
My first quilt was a baby quilt (starting small so I didn't have to buy a bunch of fabric for a hobby I was unsure about), and I don't have a baby so I gave it away.

I am still working up the courage to start my first quilt! Thanks for the giveaway! Amy @ gasudimack(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
My first quilt was for my cousin. I honestly don't know if it has held up or not but I certainly know all of the mistakes I made :)
I love this basket! I haven't been brave enough to venture into quilting, but I LOVE looking at them! My first sewing project was as a child when I made a butterfly pillow out of scrap material. I do not have it anymore, but I remember being so proud of it! :)
I made my very first quilt for a swap in a small group on my baby board. I still chat regularly with the recipient, so I think she's forgiven me for all of its, um, charm - heh. Thanks so much for the chance to win your giveaway - unlike my first quilt, that basket is gorgeous!
My first quilt is still my favorite, nearly 10 years later. I still remember picking all the fabrics with my mom.
I've only put together the charm pack of my first quilt and need to get it finished. I just love this bag & could definitely use it! Thanks so much!
I finished my first quilt not too long ago, it's a baby quilt and will be a gift. It's a simple pattern, I like it.
I made my first quilt for my nephew's birth. It is crooked and wonky but he loves it and snuggles under it every night for story time. He only sees the love in it, and doesn't care about matching seams and perfect meandering quilting. That's what keeps me making things for my loved ones-
Ok! I'm following you!
My first quilt project was a round robin quilt with my 3 sisters. It's still a flimsy because I want to get more experienced with FMQ before quilting it. Thanks for the chance to win.
I'm a new follower with Bloglovin'. Thanks again.
I gave away my first quilt to a dog in a shelter...it was actually made just for him. It wasn't perfect for sure, but GE needed the comfort badly. I've begun making smaller quilts now, about 4 foot square, for all the shelter dogs. It's an awesome mission I call Table Scraps! That's a lively Noodlehead basket! Love the colors!
I haven't done any quilt before but mostly sew skirts for my daughter
My first quilt project was a wall hanging. I do like it, it is in my bedroom. However, I would have slightly altered the colors if I had to do it again.
i use the first quilt i made everyday to snuggle under on the couch after work
I am still working on my first quilt project and it is still frustrating!
My first quilt is used on my family room table in the fall/winter and I still love it!
my first was a bed quilt, that finally wore out, it was so loved. :)
I made my first real, pieced quilt for my husband. It is a scrappy triangle quilt, made with bits of cottons and polyester and linen, etc., donated by my mother. I was very young, and I had NO CLUE what I was doing. It is dreadfully homely, and the back is bunched up in several spots where I machine quilted with more enthusiasm than talent. He has kept it and used it for almost 30 years now, and won't let me pack it away, even though I've made him far better ones since, that one is his favorite. :-)
My first quilt was a rag quilt for my Mom she still has it on her bed.
I am a follower and I have seen those baskets on flickr I really would love to have yours it is beautiful!
I am definitely hiding my first project, too :-)
